Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026 (rev. July 3)

Acceptance of terms

By using Too Much Yap (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.

What the service does

Too Much Yap is an AI-powered YouTube video triage tool. It summarizes YouTube videos using Google Gemini and helps you decide whether to watch, skip, or save them for later. We are not affiliated with YouTube or Google.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to process content you don’t have rights to analyse
  • Scrape or bulk-extract summaries via automated tools outside normal use
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or overload the AI pipeline or our servers
  • Use the Service in any way that violates YouTube’s Terms of Service

Fair use limits

Free accounts are subject to rolling 24-hour limits on distinct videos, with separate quotas for text summaries and video analyses. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that exceed reasonable usage thresholds. Pro accounts receive higher quotas through paid access.

YouTube content

All YouTube videos remain the property of their creators and are subject to YouTube’s Terms of Service. Too Much Yap does not download, redistribute, or permanently store video content. Summaries are AI-generated interpretations for personal decision-making — not transcripts or reproductions of the original content.

Optional YouTube API key

If you choose to provide your own YouTube API key (in Settings › Keys and guardrails), it is stored in your browser’s local storage on this device only. It is not encrypted and is never transmitted to Too Much Yap’s servers— your browser sends requests directly to YouTube using your key. Because local storage is readable by anyone with access to this browser profile, treat the key as you would a saved password: clear your browser data, or use the Reset button in Settings, to remove it. We don’t currently support server-side encrypted key storage; this is a known v1 limitation.

No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. AI summaries may be inaccurate, incomplete, or miss important context. Do not rely on them for anything critical. We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or continued availability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Too Much Yap and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which is $0 for free accounts).

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. To request deletion of your data, email hello@toomuchyap.com.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration or small claims court in Delaware, at our discretion.

Operator note: update the jurisdiction above if the operating entity is incorporated elsewhere.

Your privacy rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on our legitimate interests

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@toomuchyap.com or use the self-serve Delete account flow in Settings for erasure (Art. 17). We respond to verified requests within one month (per Art. 12 §3 GDPR).
